VOB Introduces new technology and procedures to the area
02-28-2007
We are pleased to announce two new medical procedures being done by our providers.
The first one is the use iof IMPLANON as a new form of birth control. It is a matchstick size rod that is inserted in your arm in our office. This device lasts for three years before it has to be removed. This device has been used worldwide, but has just recently been approved for use in the US. This progestin-only form of birth control gives you another option that you should consider with your healthcare provider.
The second new procedure that many of our physicians will be offering is a LAPAROSCOPIC HYSTERECTOMY, using a harmonic scapel. This minimally-invasive procedure has allowed our patients to have a hysterectomy as an outpatient, allowing them to go home that same day. Not all patients who need a hysterectomy are candidates for this procedure; talk to your physician about the details of this new procedure.
