We encourage all patients undergoing surgical procedures
to remain in close contact with their physician and office
nurse. If you have any questions we ask that you call the
office at 989-753-8453 day or night. Our normal office hours
are 9:00AM to 5:00 PM on Moday through Thursday and 9:00AM
to 1:00 PM on Friday. During other hours your call well be
referred to the VOB physician on call at Covenant-Harrison.
CONTACT THE OFFICE IMMEDIATELY IF YOU DEVELOP A FEVER OVER
100.5F OR IF EXCESSIVE BLEEDING OCCURS. Spotting and discharge
are common after many surgical procedures.

You may shower and wash your hair as normal. Contact your
individual physician for
restrictions on douching. Contact the office within three
days of your procedure to schedule your post-op exam.
Major Surgical Procedures
- Home restrictions for two weeks with the first week being
the same restrictions as in
the hospital. During the second week increase activity to
include light housekeeping
and cooking activities.
- After two weeks at home the patient may gradually increase
her activities to normal
during the next four to six weeks.
- You may shower and wash your hair as soon as you get home.
Contact your
individual physician for instructions about douching.
- Do not drive a car for at least 7 – 10 days after your
surgery.
- Abstain from intercourse until after your post-op exam.
This exam is normally done
six weeks after the surgery and should be scheduled within
three days of arriving
home.
- Keep trips up and down stairs minimal for at least 2
–3 weeks.
